Bits and bobbles

Turns out I have absolutely nothing of interest to say today.  My mind is so wrapped up on one particular topic that I can think of nothing else.  And since I'm not up for sharing about that topic right now, all I can do is stare at the blank screen.  I guess you're just going to get whatever random shiny bits pop into my mind.
  • I have too many projects in the works.  I need to get back to my word and FOCUS.
  • My grocery store arranges their wine by type (Cabernet, Chardonnay, etc) and by region (France, Spain, Local).  Can anyone explain to me why there is an "Australia" section but then also a combined "South Africa/New Zealand" section?  Wouldn't it make more sense to group New Zealand with Australia?  Also, Argentinian Malbecs are for some reason shelved with the wines from South Africa/New Zealand.  Someone at that store seriously failed geography class.
  • Taking a day off from the blogosphere was nice but results in a lot of "work" once I return.  I threw up a quick post yesterday and then did my best to ignore everything to do with that account.  This morning?  It took two hours to catch up on everything.  Still, I think I'm going to start pre-blogging for the weekends.  Then I can blog if I want to and read a bit if there's time but I don't have to feel obligated.
  • Is this what depression feels like?  It's not anxiety or panic.  I just don't seem to have the energy to care.
  • Also, why is it that no matter how strongly a medication assures you it is non-drowsy, it completely knocks me out?  I took an OTC allergy pill this morning that swore up and down it was non-drowsy.  Whatever, I say it lies.  Maybe this is why I have no energy.
Yep, that's all I've got I guess.  I can't seem to pull anything deeper out of the rocks in my head.  Please excuse me while I work out of this funk.  I'll try to be your warm fuzzy Cate soon.  I've been a downer too often lately.

It's ok. Its prob just winter wearing off. I've been in that funk. Go outside in the brisk cold and see if that gets you out of ur funk. good luck!

Yeah, that's what depression feels like. Totally.

It could also be the allergy pill.

You forgot to pour my coffee this morning and I had to stop and get it at Starbucks for $5.29. I hope you're happy...

Oh Cate,

I hope you get out of your funk. And I agree with Blognut; depression can totally be just like that.
I could be the allergy pill though. Or the winter blah's. What ever it is, I hope it passes quickly, so you can feel back to your old self.

Yes, depression is like that. If it lasts for a long time and is adversely affecting your daily life, I'd check into it! Otherwise, blame it on the allergies and meds. I hope you perk up soon; I feel badly that you're down! Hugs~

I can't speak for the depression but the allergy medicine knocks me off of my but too. Anything that proclaims to be non-drowsy seems to knock me out of the loop.

Get better soon.

Don't know much about depression ... but I know alot about staring at a blank screen with the only thing on your mind what you DON'T want to write about.

Oh Cate...i just want to give you a big hug and tell you it will all be ok. All too often i too have gotten into these ruts, i know how awful and helpless you feel... I assure you it will get better! Just know i am here if you need anything!

If I just have half of one of my 'non-drowsy' anti-hayfever pills it knocks me out for good.

The blogosphere moves so damn fast it can be so tiring. I don't know what the answer is!

that's how depression is for me. Just a blah. So, have a blahg-- put out your ramblings and maybe that will help!

If you have the adverse reaction to medicines then you might have Chemical Sensitivity.

Depression-could be. My acupuncturist says that during season changes people's bodies are trying to go through the change but have a hard time and end up getting in a funk. Go to acupuncture and get balanced out!

Oh yeah,

Getting into a funk every now and then is normal (at least that's what I tell myself).

About the wine section - our grocery store does the same thing. I never noticed if they grouped them the same way though...I'll have to look the next time I'm there.

Sending you well wishes. :)

MarjnHomer - the weather has been improving but I agree it could be seasonal. I wish it would get warm and stay warm.

blognut - Sorry I forgot your coffee. I almost forgot my own. I can't be counted on for much when it's Monday!

Snarky - I think we could both use naps today.

Sassy Britches - I'm on meds already for my anxiety and supposedly it helps with depression as well. I'm going to blame this on the allergy pill (haven't taken this kind before) and NOT take it tomorrow, see if it's better.

Mrs Cooper - Let's go after them for lack of truth in advertising.

Lyndsay - The blank screen mocks you too, huh?

Angie - Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate it.

mo.stoneskin - This here blogosphere moves insanely fast. I need to just let some of it go I think.

Debbi - Sorry you get the blahs too. Sucks.

Yaya - One of these days I'm going to give acupuncture a try. I've heard of people going for migraines also.

Harriet - Thanks for stopping by!

Isabella - you tiptoed in... I really don't understand how they classify the wines at this store. It took us a ridiculously long time to find the Malbecs but Joe was insistent. And it was worth digging because it was a fabulous bottle of wine.

I so sympathize. You know that, right?

I see you've gotten lots of possible explanations for your blahs, so why not another? My husband Alex has really bad allergies, and sometimes the allergies themselves (not the many allergy meds he is on year-round) can make him lethargic and blah, especially this time of year with all the new pollens in the air. So there's another possibility for your entertainment.

Not that it matters what the cause is. If you're feeling down, you're feeling down. My unsolicited advice is don't be too hard on yourself; let yourself take it easy for a bit. I hope you feel better soon. :-)

Hugs Cate...the "funks" suck!

I find it happening due to the weather as well...Spring is almost here for good...hang in there!

The Lexapro should help with depression too.

Non-drowsy always puts me to sleep.

Call Me Cate said...

Juliet - It's both good and really sad to know I'm not alone. Thank you for the additional theory. I hadn't considered that the allergies themselves might be kicking my booty. I was on awesome prescription allergy stuff but it's all gone. The OTC doesn't work the same for me.

Peggy - I really hope Spring will stick around. I'm a big fan...

Wife O Riley - see, I also thought the Lexapro should help based on what I've read. I don't know what to think. I'd prefer to think it's the allergies/allergy meds.

I know the feeling. I seem to have "funks" like that at least every two weeks. I attribute it to female hormones. And that I am totally crazy.

Beth said...

Crazy runs in my family. Are we related? You sound just like me in one of my funks.

Hope it wears off soon. But if it doesn't, call me. I'll come reorganize the wine section just for the heck of it.

Just say Julie said...

I'm thinking it a seasonal funk. I felt like that a couple weeks ago.
As for the wine, it must be something in the water, cause ours has those same catagories and I felt like taking in a globe to show them their errors.

Depression feels like your give-a-kitty has gone missing for a long time. It could be the meds, or even the allergies. Allergies do awful things.

Call Me Cate said...

Petra - Hormones are always good for blaming. And men. But in my case, yeah, it's probably the crazy.

Beth - My own family made me crazy. I'll trade them in for you. We can totally spend the day reorganizing the wine section. They can pay us in cases!!!

Julie - I had never noticed how screwy the wine organization was before. And now I can't stop thinking about it.

RAS - I think my give-a-kitty is just all gived out.
