Pronunciation: \yü-ˈbi-kwə-təs\
Function: adjective
1: existing or being everywhere at the same time : constantly encountered : widespread
2: a ridiculously complex word describing the state of Tonya's hair
But the good news is that all involved survived the visit to the vet. Tonya even let them take her blood pressure! As a bonus, it only took 3 of us to give her the rabies shot.
Rusty, of course, purred through the entire experience. That's just how he rolls.
So after hitting me with a bill for the exams in the amount of $150, they presented me with an estimate to have Tonya's teeth cleaned. $360.43. And did I have any questions? Yes, three:
- Is it REALLY such a bad thing if she loses them and has to live on wet food?
- How much for kitty dentures?
- Any bartering value in a bag of cat hair?

Oh yeah, that teeth cleaning is expensive.
Wow! That's a lot of money. I don't suppose Tonya would let you brush her teeth? Our dogs let us brush their teeth and they're fairly decent about it.
Oh, and the cat hair thing? If you work with anyone who complains about cats and their hair, and seems to turn up their nose everytime you find a stray hair on your black pants, dump the hair in their office chair when no one is looking. You'll smile all day.
Wow! I thought human dental work was expensive. Who knew dogs don't have it any cheaper?
its cheaper to get human's teeth cleaned for sure, but I'm sure its because they have to put the little kitty to sleep to get access to her mouth. glad the visit went somewhat okay and that she handled herself as well as she did! with Koda, all we have to do is keep feeding him treats and the vet can do just about anything.....
have a good day
betty

1, Yes - Wet food much more expensive and smelly
2. Much more expensive than teeth cleaning
3. No - none at all, I have plenty of my own
Our 20 y.o. cat's breath is like entering the gates of hell. But I'm too afraid of having my old, six- pounder put under so - we just plug our noses when we can. Glad everything went so well!
That pet teeth cleaning kills me every year. I did ask once how necessary it really was for my greyhound and I was met with such disdain by the ENTIRE vet office that *I* slunk away with MY tail between my legs.
Good use of "ubiquitous"...I love that word.
Wow! mucho dinero!!!!
I just discovered this blog and liked this entry a lot.
Either is completely dada or either I am completely gaga
That's why I train my kittens to brush their teeth.
If somehow an animal as fastidious as a cat figures out how to use a litterbox - you would think they could pick up on how to use floss.
Isn't there a tartar control car food?
They have to put the poor baby under while they do the teeth. A cat's jaw is very weak - yes , I know they can chew a live little critter in one bite, but my vet told me it was. The jaw is weak and in order to get it open wide enough they have to put the car under or the jaw could get broken..
I'll do it for half that. Just promise to give her half a bottle of vodka first.
Love the post.
Vets bills are killing us around here...with Peppy's diabetes.
Is that even real? Do cats really need their teeth cleaned?
Ubiquitous is hell, just the idea of anything with that characterustucs can be really overwelming.
I hope I get to know you better too but I do not know how you like to chat about interest, or maybe you prefer to do it trough blogs, which is pretty cool
Ouch! How long did it take them to revive you after you saw that estimate?
$535 was the grand total for the dog last week.
the good news is he seems to feel way better.
but that could just be that his mouth doesn't smell like ass anymore and so we let him give us kisses.
andy:)
