Happy Easter! I know not everyone celebrates Easter or maybe you celebrate different aspects of Easter. All of which is fine by me. Just please tell me you at least celebrate candy. Preferably chocolate candy.
I'm going to focus briefly today on bunnies - I had several pet bunnies growing up. The first was very creatively named "Peter". The other one I remember was named "Floppy". Floppy was a beautiful deep brown/black lop-eared bunny given to us by friends that were moving out of the area. He was the sweetest bunny - he'd even let me hold him!
But one day, I approached his pen to feed him and he wasn't there. Where'd my bunny go? The cage was still latched from the outside and there were no holes enabling his escape. To this day, I still believe that someone stole my rabbit, even though my parents insist he just took a field trip. (I'm aware that in actuality something probably happened to Floppy and my parents were just covering it up - like the time they told me my Tara-cat ran away and I found out later they put her to sleep.)
Anyways, in honor of all the bunnies I've loved before, I've crafted my bloggy friends one of my very special cards. Hope you enjoy!
I also recommend the following cards - Mean Cards. Some of these are great!

I told my son somewhat the same story when his rabbit, Carrot, died. He still hasn't forgiven me.
Happy Easter to ya.
Happy chocolate munching...
love your rabbit story :-)
best wishes Ribbon
Apparently I didn't get protection from such things as a child, since I distinctly remember when the neighbor's dogs came and ripped our bunnies to shreds... I think you get to chalk up one point for your parents.
Just curious, what date did Floppy go missing? I only ask because one day a bunny materialised out of our water tap (faucet to you?!). He said his name was Floppy.
Penelope and Clementine were my favorite bunnies. I was 33 when I adopted them. Ten happy years together. I still feel them close to my heart.
Cute card! Happy Easter! And Happy Candy (?)!
Happy Easter! I love mean bunnies. What could be more ironic?
Hoppy Easter everyone!!!
Have a great day. Best wishes.
Ms. Cupcake
Zen Cupcake
Hoppy Easter to you too! I think sometimes our parents think they are doing what is best for us. :D
HAPPY EASTER!!!! Enjoy all your chocolate!
Love the card! I joined Facebook last week and I'm still trying to figure it out.
Happy Easter!
I had a lop bunny too, he was tan and named Oscar. He liked to pee on me. True story, I swear!
Happy Easter!
Beth - Carrot? We're such imaginative pet-namers as children.
Ribbon - Hope you also have lots of chocolate.
Sarah - Ok, I'll give them a point. That's Parents: 1, Cate: 3853483428.
Mo - May 26, 1989. Was that the day?
Comedy Goddess - I'm sure the feeling will pass but I kinda want a bunny now. I'm sure something else shiny will pop up in a few minutes and I'll want that instead.
Yaya - Happy Easter Yaya!
Tracey - Bunnies look so innocent. It's all a disguise. Evil killers.
Ms Cupcake - Happy Easter!
Ann On and On - My parents were just so inconsistent. They told me one cat got eaten by a fox. But then make up a story about the bunny? What to believe...
Wife O Riley - I originally found the Mean Cards on facebook but then discovered they had their own site. I joined Facebook just so Joe would have someone to be married to on there.
Katie Lane - Happy Easter, thanks for stopping by!
SF - And now you have Baby Z to do the same thing!
I never had a bunny, except the chocolate kind. But I totally would've stolen yours if I'd known where to find it. :)
Well when baby Z can jump in the air and spin a 360 while peeing at the same time, THEN I will be impressed.
I have 3 houserabbits currently and at least one of them has in fact punched me in the face.
That's what I get for clipping nails, I guess. :)
thank you for the card Cate:)
i'll try to steer clear of crazy looking rabbits today.
And the mean cards were awesome.
As A kid, my mom was of the firm belief that she should not hide the truth for her kid, which for me meant that I had to suck up the anguish when a beloved pet died, since there was no "happy farm illusion" in our family - just the truth. I might have preferred a mysterious disappearance to the little-kid-heartbreak of having something I loved die.
Happy Easter Cate! I love the card! So very Cate :)
Have a beautiful chocolate fest!
i don't think i have ever actually known anyone that has owned rabbits.
love the card.
Excellent card. I think you could recycle the same idea for Christmas (Santa coming down the chimney) and Valentine's Day (Cupid dropping his bow) and Thanksgiving (Pilgrims asking the Indians to dinner...wait, THAT'S NOT NICE!).
I love that!!!
hahaa
Happy Easter back at ya! I bought way too much chocolate for Easter baskets this year, then decided it was way too much, then figured I'd better eat it all so the kids don't get bellyaches. I took one for the team.
Hope you got lots of chocolate, too.
I needed a good bunny punch!!!
Hope you had a great day!
blognut - Wow, what a good friend you are!
SF - I'm surprised he can't do that yet. You know the other wonder-babies can!
TMC - I can't begin to count the number of times I've been punched in the face while clipping nails. Bunnies have powerful punches too!
andy - I <3 the mean cards. So funny. Hope you didn't run into any aggravated rabbits!
Snarky - I just wish my folks had been consistent in their approach.
Deb - I grew up in the sticks. Rabbits were one of the less adventurous pets!
Sassy Britches - Santa's been done but I missed Cupid. And Pilgrims? Kinda awesome... Can't wait for 4th of July!
Vodka Mom - don't trust the bunny!
RAS - Good for you taking one for the team. Such a good momma.
Donnetta - we all need a good bunny punch every so often to keep us in line.
LOL! LOVE the card!
Hope you had a lovely Easter!
Yep, gotta celebrate chocolate. ;)
I've had several rabbits. Some mine, some technically belonging to my brothers. Some rescued or given to us, some from pet shops. Most of them lops. We've had:
Roger Rabbit
Bubbles
Bugs Bunny
Pippin
Scruffy (and her babies)
Samhain Magik
Shiloh
Stew Pot AKA "Stewie" (name was Dad's idea of a joke)
And those are just the ones I was old enough to remember.
My brother and sister-in-law still have two rabbits... Loppy and Mouse.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed your Easter... However you celebrated. :)
hahaha, loving the card, as usual. You funny.
I hate bunnies. just to be a grinch who steals easter. I should blog about that one.
Love it!! Hope your Easter was happy.
