My first time

I love writing about my first time. In fact, I think I've written about my first time before on this blog. Since it was my first time, I was scared but once I was able to relax, I really enjoyed it. More importantly, I felt great afterwards and immediately wanted to do it again!

No, not that.

I'm talking about my first massage!

Joe has, of course, given me the occasional uneducated but appreciated massage. It's nice and something I wish he would do more often. But this time he outdid himself by booking us a couples massage.

A professional massage is something I've wanted to do for awhile but I've always been too afraid. Cost, weight, strangers in my space. All of these have been issues that kept me from going. But since Joe booked and insisted, I did what anyone else would do.

I hyperventilated. I begged him to cancel. I freaked.

Then I shaved my legs, popped a xanax, and off we went.

We were greeted by two lovely ladies. The introduced themselves as Tonya and Kat. Perfect. Nothing could possibly induce an image of relaxation more than my Tonya-cat. The ladies appeared to be without fur and claws so we proceeded.

Kat was great about explaining exactly what was going to happen and asking if there were any specific areas to either focus on or avoid.

The massage itself was fantastic. I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep a few times. My friend who is currently in school to become a licensed massage therapist assures me this is a compliment and not a bad thing. She even assured me that a bit of snoring is seen as a good thing. Yeah, maybe to a masseuse. Not so much to a spouse.

Afterwards, I was hooked. I wanted to repeat that feeling over and over agian. Warmth, relaxation, not a care in the world. Until they hit you with "and now it's time to pay!". I sorta wandered off and let Joe take care of that part. Maybe he can pre-pay for any of my future sessions so I can just pretend it's free.

For someone who hates to be touched and has major trust issues, I'm surprised I enjoyed this so much. I can't wait to go again!

P.S. - Aren't first times fun?

Sounds nice. I don't like people touching me (sometimes even hugs require permission) so I understand your hesitation. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.

I don't think I could do it.

I freak out at a salon when someone washes my hair too long.

I'm weird like that. ;)

Personally I'd rather not go for a massage. I don't do anything I don't feel comfortable doing, so don't anyone bother trying to talk me round. I'm not going to pay for a stranger to have their hands all over me. No thank you!

I've wanted to plan a couples massage for a while now, I'm glad to hear such great reviews. Seems like some good therapy if you ask me :-)

Um. In regards to your last question, no. First times are NOT fun. I have yet to have a first time be a good experience!!!

BUT, when it comes to a couples' massage, I may find it turn out differently. I hope so. Will and I have talked about doing that. So maybe I'll give it to him as a gift!

my boss had given me a massage gift certificate a couple years ago. i waited until the last possible minute to use it until it was due to expire because it FREAKED ME OUT to think of someone touching me when i'm naked and not expecting me to put out.

and it was pretty awesome.

so i went back a few months ago, found the same masseuse...funny how quickly your inhibitions lift once someone has seen your girl bits once.

Dietgirl once said that a massage is just a cruel joke played by skinny people. While I have to admit that in this heat it is not real appealing, I think I'll stick with my private North Woods sauna with a roll in the snow, thank you.

Yay! It sounds like it was a great one. I've had one REALLY AMAZING massage and a few others that were nice but not fantastic.

Of course the REALLY AMAZING male massage therapist was later arrested for taking video (hidden camera) of his clients undressing. I still don't know if I was on that video.

Yes, seriously.

I don't want to encourage you to have more anxiety--remember this was a guy. Somehow I'm guessing that, as rare as it is for a licensed male massage therapist to do something so illegal and stupid, it is 20 times rarer for female massage therapists to do it. So--go back to Tonya (or Kat)--it's great to have a massage therapist who is so good at what they do!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your couples massage. I had my 2nd ever massage a week or so ago and it was AWESOME. I'd have one every day now if I could. I was freaked out at first too, but I can't imagine why now. After it was over with, for the first time in YEARS I didn't have the pain in my left shoulder and neck anymore. Oh yeah, BOOYUH!

Hope many more massages are headed your way!

My first time was in the back of an Escort wagon.

And, yeah, I'm talking about a massage, too. Granted, it wasn't professional, but it sure did feel good.

Heh. That whole comment has a very steamy second meaning feel to it.

I`ve never had a massage, exactly for those reasons you mentioned (hating to be touched) and I`m so scared it will hurt afterward.
But hearing how you liked it made me want to try.. :)

My first time was awesome too. I was a ball of nerves with all the touching that would be going on but it was definately a memorable experience.

Now I have my very own massage chair that does this for me for free!

I love massages! But yeah, my first time I was a bit freaked. Like, geez I'm lying here naked as someone walks around touching me??

I really want to get a massage, but I haven't done it because the idea of stangers touching me freaks me out a little.

Send me a Xanax and I'll give it a shot.

My first time was at an art /garden products/holistic healing day. It was held in the middle of a farmer's field. A beautiful cloudless sprng afternoon.
I stopped only to talk to the therapist about my concerns. I have fybromyalgia. She had me on her table in minutes, granted I was NOT naked. She worked on me for abut 30 minutes. When it came time for me to leave, she didn't charge me because she felt bad about my reservations when it was so obvious I was in dire need.
So, yes some first times are grand.

I would love to get massaged, but I'm afraid it's gonna be like crack---hard to live without...

Mmmm...massages...I LOVE massages, especially from a professional that knows what they're doing! My last one was at least a couple years ago. I'm LONG over due! Glad you enjoyed it! =)

I had my first massage when I was in my 30's and liked them so much I went to school to become a therapist. Big mistake, just because you like GETTING massages doesn't necessarily mean you'll like GIVING them. Just another "live and learn" experience.
