Over the next few months, I'm returning to those books I read hiding under the covers with a flashlight long after my bedtime or while perched on my limb of the tree in the neighbor's field. Tentatively I plan to cover the Anne of Green Gables series (started yesterday) and Little House on the Prairie. Depending on how long that takes, I'll see what else I can dig up. I'd also like to revisit a few more recent purchases like The Time Traveler's Wife (because I hated it and everyone else loved it and now they're all hyped for the movie and I'm SO not plus I don't like Rachel McAdams and this is going to be The Notebook all over again with everyone else in awe and me puking at the whole thing) and The Thirteenth Tale (which I thought was excellent).
In the meantime, I'll figure out my Fall reading list. I have a lot of books sitting at home to read. And I've discovered that my Kindle is made of awesome (I promised to review it months ago but I've been drowning in library books so I haven't really used it until now) so I'll be buying some books for that as well.
I didn't really make a Spring reading list. At least not officially. Still, I read a few books - just not as many as I would've liked.

I always go for an old book that I hadn't read before. Last year my favorite was On The Road by Jack Kerouac. I am currently reading The Rum Diaries by Hunter S. Thompson and so far, it's awesome!
I am trying to read the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Windspear. Love them.
But our stupid library only stocks heaving bosoms romances, so they have to order "good" books from other libraries, which means you get like five of them at one time and only get them for like two weeks and end up with a $6 fine, like I did yesterday.
Let's see - when I was on vaction earlier this month, I read the 8th book in The Women's Murder Club Series, Wicked Prey, Down River, and The King of Lies.
Also, this summer, I've read First Family, The Traveler's Gift, The Hour I First Believed, The Almost Moon, and I keep re-reading parts of Broken Open. I'm forgetting one or two, but it'll come to me.
That's about it, so far. Now you know why I never watch TV.
I didn't love TTW either, but I think of that book constantly. I hate that about it.
I just finished the latest Dean Koontz, Relentless. Here's my review: His books are like being expertly made love to and just as you are about to get to the big finish, your lover gets up and walks away.
I like girly books so my favorites are Jodi Picoult, Barbara Delinsky and Kristin Hannah.
Ohhh Anne of Green Gables is my all time favorite series! LOVE IT!
I don't really have a list. I just have a bazillion books lining my shelves that need to be read so if I find the time to read them...I will...but I've been slacking on my reading so...
The last book I read and loved was Marley & Me.
I started the Debutante Divorcee' but it's a bit lame so I haven't really gotten into it.
I'd recommend a couple.
Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry and A Wrinkle in Time, a science fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle.
I'm reading Robert Silverberg's Lord Valentime triology now. Juggling and ESP and dream reading - its very much a "leave this world and go somewhere else" series of books.
Oh, and the new Jack Reacher book by Lee Child. Gritty but intelligent - like you. :)
I always wondered about Kindle; I thought it would be neat to have one but don't want to spend the money right now when I can go to the library and get them for free.
I just finished one last week called Me and Emma; I wish I could remember the author. It was a very sad but good book and caught me by surprise at the end
Yesterday I finished Happens Every Day by Isabel Gillies; it is a true story; she is an actress and she writes about the breakup of her first marriage. Well written and thought provoking.

I've just finished re-reading "Stonehenge" by Bernard Cornwell. It's a fantastic book, and I would highly recommend it. I've now started re-reading the Harry Potter books. I'm hoping after that to make a trip to the library to look for something I haven't read yet.

I absolutely loved The Cape Ann by Faith Sullivan and any of her other books. Also have read Lisa See's Snowflower and the Secret Fan and Peony in Love. Right now I have Clay's Quilt by Silas House checked out. Happy reading!
I just finished and loved Geoff Dyer's "Paris Trance: A Romance". About a failed writer in Paris. Snarky but realistic characters. Oh. And hot sex.
One of my favorite books as a kid was "Harriet the Spy" by Louise Fitzhugh. No hot sex.
I read "Mistaken Identity: Two Families, One Survivor, Unwavering Hope." It's a true story, and I thought it was very well written.
I have themed reading summers sometimes, too. A couple of summers ago, it was Jane Austen. Now I'm on a Bronte Sisters kick...

I've Tweeted a bit about it lately--I'm reading a fascinating book on the history of birth--all the old (& new) traditions and practices. It's great.
I also started Dune several weeks ago. I'd forgotten about that until I read this post. I only read a few pages, but I really want to read it, so I'll probably get into it after finishing the birth book (almost done.)
Don't forget "To Kill a Mockingbird".
I just went to the used book store today and came home with my summer reading, or part of it anyway. I generally read 2 - 3 books a week.
One book I am reading now I think is called "Jinni". I don't remember the author, and since it is in the living room and company is sleeping there right now I can't go check.
The next book I read will probably the one about the cat in the library in Iowa. Again, it is in the living room.
We are hitting garage sales tomorrow so I hope to find more books there.

I have a kindle and it is by far my favorite thing. I wasn't sure when I got it because I adore books but I quickly came to love it. I wrote a silly post about it naming it george. I also did not like the notebook or anything by this author let alone the Movies.
I've read the first four and they are all very good, kite runner dvd was brilliant, see it too.

I recently (as in it's one of the handful of books I've read since Monsoon was born) read A Wrinkle In Time for the first time and can't believe it took me so long. Quick, easy and enjoyable.
I so badly want to read more books, but I barely have time to read blogs!
