This morning, on the way into my office building, a man was walking out with a little boy. The little boy ran up to me, all excited.
"Look, I got a green lollipop! And I'm licking it!!!"
Don't you wish a green lollipop was all it took to make you so happy on a Monday morning? Or ever?
Ahh, simpler times. Sometimes I really wish we could all just go back.

Coffee is my green lollipop
How cute!! I do wish sometimes that things were much simpler....adulthood just complicates the mess out of everything!
You speak the truth, sister.
Gotta love the uncomplicated lives of little ones.
Being the mother of a small child helps me to see the world through younger eyes.....maybe I should take a cue from you and blog about it.
Ah the simple pleasures of life! That little boy will forget the green lollipop long before you will.
My first two thoughts after reading: People who get that excited about suckers get just as upset when they drop them. And, who gave that kid a sucker first thing in the morning?
Sorry, my cynicism is showing. Hoping you're enjoying your Monday, with or without a lollipop.
Wow. Someone give bananasforbreakfast a green lollipop. Or don't- wouldn't want to see what happens if it accidentally gets dropped.
Ah, but something as simple as a lollipop can make you happy. It's all in how you look at it.....your attitude, outlook and approach to things.
i like green lollipops, too.
Thanksgiving MeMe
"little boy"? You critical "so and so". I'm 27.
Your story reminded me of the time I gave the kids cake for breakfast. Yes I did. They were so happy that they told their teacher about it.
I agree, simply things are better.
Have a wonderful and blessing week.
I know; and we "long" to grow up. Why did we want to be 13, then 16, then 18, etc???
betty
I would love to be a kid again!
Ya I wish that is all it would take to make a monday morning good!
A green lollipop doesn't do it for me, but a purple popsicle sure does!
every now and then we all have a 'green lollipop' moment, but it is usually followed very quickly by that 'i just stepped in dog shit' moment. !! cynical me!!
That's sweet. Kind of makes me want one...
You know, he probably would have been just as happy with a red or blue or maybe even yellow lollipop. Even if a lollipop made me that happy as an adult, I doubt I'd be happy with green or yellow.
