Six Word Saturday

"Invasion of the Parents" now playing

Want to play along? All that's necessary to participate is to describe your life (or something) in a phrase using just six words. For more information, try clicking here. Feel free to explain or not explain. Add an image, a video, a song, nothing. I love seeing what everyone does with their entries.

Each week (probably on Sunday or Monday), I use random.org to select a bunch of entries to visit.  Or I visit everyone. Or even numbered entries. Or odd numbered entries. Or multiples of three. Depends on what's going on that week.  In addition, please visit the person ahead of you on the list (or visit everyone if you like!). That way everyone receives at least one visit!

If you play along in your blog, please add a link to the Mr. Linky. I appreciate a link back (shiny code below if you like!). Otherwise, you're welcome to leave your six words in this post as a comment.

Please be sure to link either to your main page or (preferably) directly to the 6WS post. Links to blogs that do not contain a 6WS entry will be removed (sorry, just the button in the sidebar doesn't count as participating).

  1. Hi Cate ~~ I take it you mean parents getting involved in school things. Or just visiting their children's classes.

Your poor Tonya (BTW, also the name of my physical therapist for my knee implant rehab) is having a hard time. 'Not just nails' is it?

Our Amber went in for a "Dr. Kervorkian" meeting and left with a bag of saline solution full of sodium, etc, ions.

After three home injections, by Mrs. Jim, Amber is eating like a horse and began to liven up and gain weight.

The vet must have been right about an ion unbalance. Best wishes with Tonya.

Oh yes, free cats don't stay free very long. Amber, a free cat, probably has had over $2000 worth of vet bills in her 18 years.

  2. Jess's six word message says she can't return comments to anonymous readers but would if she could.

I cannot return her comment because of a blogger problem. Blogger says I am not signed in on her type of comment sign-in form. But I am signed in and need to be to sign in here.

It is a recognized Blogger problem. Blogger says to relax on cookies but I have relaxed to their specifications. Still I can't return her comments or any others who do not allow "Anonymous" or "Url" sign-ins or do not use a form like yours and mine here.

    I am sorry, Jess.

  3. It's interesting how six words can be intepreted in different ways - Cate I read your six words and imagined that either yours or hubby's parents have come for a visit, but then I read Jim's comment and thought maybe I had it wrong.

  4. I am curious if your parents have invaded your home. The thought of my parents invading my home is enough to make me want to run a marathon. In one direction. And I ain't no skinny girl...

If this is the case, I hope you have some self-esteem left when they leave!

  9. I think you'll have a pretty darn WONDERFUL time.....mostly....hopefully and enjoy those precious moments...although my own momma used to drive me crazy, she always knew (even when I swore I was absolutely right) she got it...she always did....how could she always be right...for the most part...many times I cursed (silently) but today I find myself crying sometimes because all I have left are our memories....it's very hard to say good-bye for the last time to one's parents, but you never truly understand that until it happens. Have fun this weekend...or for how ever long ... ;) Enjoy each other!!!

  11. I know that film too. I know the film in both of its versions - the invasion of my parents and inlaws, and the invasion of pupils' parents! Hope it goes well, whichever version it is you are experiencing!

  14. Cate, I've visited lots of 6-w-S bloggers and laboriously typed comments two, three and more times only to have the comment disappear. I use my Google ID first and then try my I give up! It is only with Blogspot blogs - so you blogspot bloggers out there, consider yourself visited, but I won't be responding in future - life's too short - Apologies.

  15. It was there when I clicked but Blogspot now won't let me use the word Wordpress! "I tried using my Wordpress ID " were the words I used in my last comment, but WP disappeared. Eerie - some kind of ethereal vendetta going on.

  19. If that means your family is visiting, I wish you good times and/ or good luck, which ever is appropriate. If it means something else, then I don't know what to say! Happy 6WS!

  20. ARE YOU THE INVADING PARTY OR THE INVADED???

must be the invaded, since you have not responded to anyone here today...

my heart goes out to you!! i remember how these visits made me nervous and left me exhausted...

still, i wouldn't mind seeing my mom again, even if only once more, for proper goodbyes...

let's hear about it all in the coming week!!
    :)~

  21. Hello Cate,
Thanks for doing such a fun meme,I l love it!And hope to get better at it in the future!
I think I've made a bit of a booboo in my 'anonoymous' comment. What I meant was that I cannot find the way to join Google Friends Connect anonymously & I feel guilty about not following back those people who have connected to my blog in that way.
I don't mind commenting to anybody with my blog name though, hope that clears things up,as a few people have wondered about my comment.
Thanks again for such a fun meme lv Jess
