Saturday morning, Joe and I were busy packing for an overnight trip when we had an uninvited visitor.
Another.
Damn.
Mouse.
Seriously.
So while the cats lounged on the back porch, sipping frosty beverages with little umbrellas, working on their tans, the two of us spent some time hunting a mouse upstairs.
When the deed was done, Joe took the body of the late Mr Mouse out to the backyard, passing by the two lazy kitties. Tonya may have opened one eye and laughed at him. Rusty only stretched and rolled over to bake his other side.
Our cats are complete failures at being cats.
Wow, with that description of your cats' lives, I think I'll volunteer to be a cat in your house.
ReplyDeleteMargarita, please. (With salt.)
you didn't mention having any anxiety about the unwanted visitor. I hope that's the case!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it is time to demote the cats to a lower rank, or give him a dishonorable discharge. This kind of blatant disrespect of authority should not be tolerated! They cannot let the terrorists (uh...mice) win!
ReplyDeleteLol what is with the mice lately?! We had one in our cupboard and I about freaked out. It was actually sitting IN MY UTENSIL DRAWER!! Alive and looking at me like "Uh excuse me, close the door please" ((shivers)) Stupid mice and grrrr at the cats for not getting it for you before you knew it existed!! I thought about getting a cat to prevent any future mouse problems, I got more Raid stuff instead.
ReplyDeleteI would say they have raised the art of being cats to a new and luxurious level, and who can blame them....they live with such good mouse hunters.
ReplyDeleteperhaps you're enabling them?
ReplyDeletemaybe try putting them and a mouse in an enclosed space...the winner (hopefully the cats) gets to lie on the back porch and have a glass of wine.
i'm all about support, my love.
<3 andrea
Someone has to soak up the sun, I mean, it doesn't soak up itself!!
ReplyDeleteSheesh.
haha, kidding! I love your cats!
haha...great mental picture. i can just see two people bent over chasing around a mouse while the 2 cats are outside sunbathing. Those are some brave mice, I might add!
ReplyDeleteI've always said that in my next life I want to be a spoiled cat and now I'm going to specify that I want to be Cate's spoiled cat (frosty umbrella drinks and all!). ;->
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and Jo make great cats though. :)
ReplyDeleteYou cats have it made in the shade !!! LOL
ReplyDeleteHa - love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have a fly in my bathroom that has been there for at least three days. My cats have to walk by it to get to their litter box. They might actually walk around it in an arch so as not to disturb it.
They're not complete failures, just a little ineffective.
ReplyDeleteIn my next life I hope to be a cat at your house.
Provided, in your next life, you have a house and you still like cats.
so funny, love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is truly funny. I can picture the cats with their drinks with umbrellas. You are good.
